For those wishing to explore the island by bike, for which it is particularly well suited, we have cycles available for hire. For those who prefer hiking, the island has plenty of woodland, mountain and coastal walks.

Arrangements can be made for fishing and hunting. Bird watchers will be particularly interested in the nearby bird cliff Bleiksøya with it’s large seabird colony. Amoung others 80,000 pairs of puffins and more than 6,000 pairs of kittiwakes raise their young here. Other species: cormorants, razorbills, guillemots and white-tailed sea eagles. Daily Puffin safaris in the summer time.

For those who want to go on Whale Safari, Andenes is only 45 minutes’ away by car.

And finally the extraordinary surfing conditions on the west coast of the island regularly attract surfers from Norway and all over Europe.
